Chris Holdon runs Constad Jewellers in Petersfield. They have 2 stores (20 miles apart) and an online webstore www.constadjewellers.co.uk selling jewellery, watches, clocks, barometers, gifts and associated services.

Prior to installing Trackit, they had a part computerised system that was really an extension of their very labour intensive manual system. This involved keeping a stock book and writing every stock movement in it as it happened, manually removing items from the book as sales were made.

Trackit has made life a lot easier for Chris and his team. The stock book is no more! Each sale made using the touch screen till EPOS system automatically updates the stock information, which means that at any time they can get report of sales, stock, best and worst sellers at the touch of a button.

Installing the EPOS system has saved a significant amount of administration time, both on a daily basis and in terms of the annual stock take.

Chris says: "The information you can draw from the system is excellent. For example, we introduced a new product line a few months ago and have been able to closely monitor sales and make decisions accordingly. We now have the benefit of being able to increase orders of stock that we know for sure are selling well to maximise on the opportunity. This puts us in a similar position to the big retailers who have operated in this way for years."

They now have much greater visability of other vital information such as increased costs from their suppliers. This allows them to keep a reign on profitability and increase their own prices accordingly.

At present Trackit is running in Constad's head office locaation but Chris is looking forward to installing an EPOS System in the second store in due course along with integrating their webstore on a real time basis.

Chris has also been very impressed by Trackit's installation, training and support. They were up and running within just one day and all problems, queries and upgrades responded to promptly by the Trackit helpdesk team.
