January 2010
Announced towards the end of last year, the “contactless” card, used as a Gift card and/or Loyalty card has created mega interest amongst our Trackit users. Its modern use of technology and neat appearance, always in someone’s wallet or purse, keeps on bringing customers back into retailer’s stores. Simple to operate, it is a very significant marketing tool in the retailer’s strategy to increase sales.

It’s not all gloom and doom out there. We have had one of our best January starts ever, with new customers ordering Trackit in markets such as Lighting, Fashion, Sports and Schoolwear.
Existing customers are feeling a lot more confident about the future too, upgrading tills, office systems and starting the design of web sites – fully integrated, of course.
2010 will still be difficult in the retail market, but by investing now, many of our customers believe that it will give them the platform to provide the best of service levels coupled with significant cost savings, allowing them to grow their business as confidence in the economy returns.

The latest software version of the Trackit Touch screen Epos Till is just being shipped and contains some major enhancements, particularly in the area of customer retention – bring your existing customers back in!
The use of “Contactless” smart cards to provide a professional image:-
- Loyalty and/or points collection,
- Gift Cards where an amount can be stored on the memory of the card
- Savings Cards, for example a Christmas club
This has created an amazing amount of interest amongst our existing customers. For example, send Gift Cards with £10 loaded on them to all your customers, or be selective – just send them to your “big spenders” – you can use the Customer profile software to select these. You could also send them with a “one off” discount % to take advantage of when they next came into your shop.
Text and e-mailing customers
Our Trackit retailers have been able to collect customer contact details, such as address, e-mail or mobile phone details for a long time. Now from within the Till or Back Office software, you can automatically send e-mail or text messages to your customers from within the Customer or Special Orders screen. Imagine how immediate a text message can be to encourage a customer to come in tomorrow (with a suitable “reward” for doing so!).

Staycation is the new vacation.
Campers and Leisure has just installed an Epos till, linked to our Trackit Office system located in a caravan!![]()
The till is based in the Accessory shop that sells everything from tents to cooking utensils. Their existing web site will shortly be linked into Trackit - www.campersandleisure.co.uk

We are not aware of any other UK Epos supplier that has a software module specifically designed for the Menswear Hire market.
Tux N Tails have 6 shops in London and the Home Counties. Trackit replaced an old Dos based system (one of our competitors) converting the existing database and replacing all the old tills with modern touch screen tills, all in the space of a week, including the training of staff at the Shops and Head Office. Thanks to their staff and our engineers, the transition was smooth and caused minimal disruption to their business.

Congratualtions Munster Rugby who are the 2008/09 Magners League Champions.

It may or may not be a coincidence but Munster use Trackit for their retail stock control! They have a shop in Limerick city centre, and when the new stadium opened in 2008, they added a second large flagship store at the ground with four additional Trackit tills.

Tessuti, a major fashion retailer in the North West, have been an established Trackit user since 2003 and now have a linked web site www.tessuti.co.uk. They can now expand their products on the web from 20% to 80% of their stock, in the full knowledge that the stock control is automatically updated.

Scentsational, a major retailer of perfumes, many at discounted prices, did really well in the build up to Christmas 2008, but the owners vowed to get a “linked” e-commerce and e-Bay site for the 2009 Christmas as they could not cope without working 18 hour days. Trackit is now installed and working in the 2 shops and Head Office, and shortly this will link to their new web site, and their e-Bay shop. They will then be in full control of their stock on a “real time “ basis, saving many hours searching for stock across 2 shops and a warehouse. See www.scentsationalperfumes.com

Rightway DIY first started using Trackit in 2001 when they had 6 DIY shops. This later became 8 shops. In November 2008, they acquired a business, adding a further 7 shops. With Christmas approaching, we installed a touch till and a separate PC (for ordering) in all 7 shops within a week of order. They operate without the need (and cost) of a central warehouse, each shop having full access to stock levels, reordering (using min/max levels) and transfers between shops.
